WHAT A MODE ACTUALLY CHANGES
Picking a mode is not just swapping the sequences assigned to it. Above all it swaps the beat-detection algorithm, and that algorithm is different for every kind of music.
A four-on-the-floor kick, a broken drum & bass pattern and distorted schranz at 150–170 BPM are not read the same way. HARD TECHNO, for one, reads the state of the track from the pulse of the kick, because in schranz the sub-bass gives nothing away. Each mode listens on its own terms - switch it when the DJ switches genre and the detection follows.

There are four things to see: what the app hears, where your fixtures hang, manual control for a live band, and the remote in your pocket. The first one is the app thinking out loud.
It re-reads the track several times a second
The analysis never stops: tempo locked to the beat, and the state of the track named the moment it changes - build, breakdown, drop, the quiet middle. Every state has its own sequences, so when the track turns, the rig turns with it. The coloured bars show the last few dozen of those readings.
See every fixture, live
Beams drawn as they are sent, fixtures dragged to where they hang in the venue, and the universe and channel range on every device in the patch - so what you read on the plan is what is on the wire.
Take manual control when the band plays
The one mode that does not listen: the analysis stops and you set the lighting by hand - heads on a joystick, bars, PARs and every other fixture - and it holds exactly like that until you change it.
The whole venue, from your pocket
The everyday controls run from a phone or a tablet: mode, dynamics, colour, brightness, muting whole fixture groups, NOW PLAYING and blackout. All it needs is the same Wi-Fi as the Mac - no extra hardware, nothing installed.
Pair by scanning a QR code, enter a PIN, and the connection is encrypted.

The lights are not the only thing that follows the music.
The same engine that drives the rig also drives the screen. Over 50 built-in visuals react to the audio in the venue, and anything you add of your own is locked to the detected tempo - so the wall behind the DJ hits the beat the fixtures hit.
